Like other AAA-affiliated insurance companies, CSAA Insurance Group shares a member-centric attitude that dates to the American Automobile Association’s founding in 1901. CSAA underwrites insurance not only for the CSAA Insurance Exchange (AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah) but numerous AAA clubs across the country.
AAA’s famed emergency roadside service plans today have 55 million subscribers.
CSAA Insurance Group by itself claimed 1.14 percent of the private passenger auto insurance market as of June 2015, the most recent data available from data analyst A.M. Best. That makes CSAA the 16th-largest auto insurance carrier among the more than 1,400 tracked by Best.
