LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – The Arkansas health insurance market has become part of the state health insurance department after Gov. Asa Hutchinson has signed a law that resolves the marketplace authority as a separate entity. State legislation established the insurance market in 2013.
The marketplace in Arkansas used funds from a federal grant of $ 99.99 million
2015, to create an exchange that consumers and small businesses would use instead
from healthcare.gov. The marketplace also approved the in
Arkansas through healthcare.gov and helped consumers sign up.

The Arkansas Democrat Gazette reports that the law will come into effect on Friday.

Governor Hutchinson signed a law last month that took control of the country
State health insurance exchange with the Arkansas Health Insurance Department.
The measure postponed all funds and other assets in the marketplace
to the department.
