RSG acquires Texas wholesale broker Myron StevesRyan Specialty Group (RSG) is good on the acquisition route. The specialist insurance company announced on Friday (February 15) that it has reached an agreement to buy the assets and activities of Myron Steves & Company (Myron Steves), an independent insurance agency in Texas.

Myron Steves is headquartered in Houston, TX, and has additional offices in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. After the acquisition, the team will become part of RT Specialty, the wholesale brokerage unit of RSG. Myron Steves chairman Fred Steves said that the two organizations "could not fit better."

"Joining forces with RT Specialty offers Myron Steves a leading platform and an extensive network of professionals with whom we can continue to expand our business," he noted. "Our company has been around for more than half a century and we are now ready to move on to the next stage: RT Specialty can not be a better fit for our professionals because our cultures connect in a strategic way as well as the way we serve our customers and appreciate our employees, and we look forward to joining the RT Specialty team. "

Myron Steves was founded in 1955 and has a long history as an independent insurance agent in Texas and the southwest. The areas of expertise are commercial real estate and accidents, professional liability, healthcare, transport and personal lines. In a corporate release RSG said the acquisition will strengthen its position in Texas by expanding the presence of RT Specialty in Dallas and Houston and acquiring new offices in Austin and San Antonio.
